there is about a few of them who think they know me, and i laugh when they try and tell me who i am and why i do, say, and think the things i do. i remember once when one of them comfronted me i shut down completely bcz i was afraid they were getting close but no, no one will ever get that close. no matter how far they think they've gone in they will never reach the core. and no this isnt just a defense mechanism, its the truth. no one with get as close as me.

Yes. There are always going to be a select few who will consider themselves to be your family or your best friends who know you best, and yet, they don't. Sometimes you'll say something or reveal something and they will seem shocked that they didn't know this about you; they DON'T know you or anyone else. I don't think we personally know who we are as individuals, so it's less likely anyone else can claim to know us or that we can claim to know another person well. We're all a big secret to each other and ourselves.
